Cemetry

In the initial days of the parish, the cemetery of the St. George Church, Palayam was used for funeral rites. A need for own cemetery was felt and the steps to acquire one was started when Rev. Fr. Rajan George was the vicar. 76 cents of land was identified at Malamukal, near Nettayam; the said land was purchased at a cost of 2.75 lakhs.

The use of cemetery started with the consecration ceremony by the Diocese Metropolitan. The cemetery allotment norms, as approved by the General body were published after getting the consent of the Diocese Metropolitan. Graves/vaults are built and made fit for burial, which are then released on a need basis.
