Mr. P. S. Rajappan was in possession of about 4 cents of land along the main road near the church. He donated the said land to the parish for the erection of a granite cross. Thus, one Kurishadi was constructed by the side of the main road and it was dedicated in the name of Parumala Thirumeni.

One major renovation of the Cross and the surrounding area happened in the year 1990. On July 8th, the renovated Cross was rededicated by H. G . Thomas Mar Athanasios (Metropolitan, Chengannur Diocese). In 2008, the compound wall and the gate had to be rebuilt due to widening of the road.
